Case Study: Cold Plates for High-Performance Servers Achieving Thermal Management

After conducting simulations at UPT to determine the optimal flow-channel width, the team developed a custom cold plate to maximize thermal conductivity.
As a result, both high heat-dissipation performance and space savings through a finless design were successfully achieved.

Customer Challenge

Previously, heat dissipation for the high-performance servers was handled using air-cooled heat sinks with fins. However, sufficient cooling performance could not be achieved, resulting in failures caused by excessive heat buildup.
